Benchmark in 2017
Benchmark was born 10 years ago when a gap in the market was identified for an employment consultancy that genuinely cares about people and their future. Since then the team at Benchmark HQ has continued to fulfil its promise by matching quality candidates to quality companies for lasting partnerships.
At the helm of our good ship Benchmark is its founder and Managing Director, Louisa Harrison-Walker.
“Our aim is to ensure, like us, you’re in a job you love, and that one day, when you look back on your working life, you can say you were truly satisfied by what you did, where you’ve been, and who you’ve worked with. Life is too short to be in the wrong job!” said Louisa.
Benchmark History Books
Benchmark’s existence is thanks to its founders Louisa Harrison-Walker and Amy Tingle, who met at school when they were just 12, and went on to build a formidable business partnership to create the recruitment company.
It was a calculated risk that paid off – they re-mortgaged their homes, resigned from their jobs, and got cracking with creating Benchmark.
After a fantastic partnership Amy left Benchmark in Autumn 2015 and Louisa continues driving the company forward with her 10 strong team of recruitment specialists.
After celebrating our 10th birthday last year, Benchmark is working with companies across Yorkshire, Lancashire and the Midlands to deliver an independent recruitment service focusing on finding the right cultural fit for companies and retention in the workplace.
Working with Benchmark was effortless throughout the recruitment process.
The initial meeting clearly established the candidates we were after which was followed up by positive CVs that fitted the criteria. We eventually placed a member of staff put forward by Benchmark that we are very happy with and has become an integral member of the football club.Andrew, Manager

Helping the Community
When it comes to CSR we take our responsibility pretty seriously. Our Director at Benchmark is a Trustee for a local charity and diverts a % of all profits to good causes.
You know how nice it is when someone gives you a compliment? Well receiving accolade from industry professionals is the highest praise indeed for us, so when it comes to shiny trophies – we love them!
