Guide Dogs Annual Recruitment Drive

Guide Dogs for the BlindFollowing on from our successful recruitment drive last year, we are delighted to announce that Benchmark has again been selected as the preferred supplier to assist Guide Dogs for the Blind in the recruitment and selection process for their Apprentice Guide Dog Mobility Instructors on a National Basis.

The positions we are recruiting for this year are available across the following regions: Northern Ireland, Newcastle, West Scotland, Cheshire, Cumbria & Lancs, Greater Manchester, Central London and Essex. All applicants are requested to complete a comprehensive application pack, and shortlisted candidates will then be invited to attend assessment centres across the regions and battle it out for the highly coveted job posts.

The role itself will involve training dogs in blocks of 8-12 weeks whilst undertaking The Certificate/Diploma HE in Canine Assistance Studies from Southampton University, which is a three-year training programme. GDMI’s will develop close working relationships with a wide number of clients and provide advice and support over many years.
