Benchmark Recruit news
More than 130 South Yorkshire business people pitted their wits against each other in our huge pub quiz to raise money for charity.
The Benchmark team organised the quiz as part of our Master Cutler Challenge, which this year is raising money for Whirlow Hall Farm to give disadvantaged children a chance to visit a working farm, and for Sheffield Hospitals Charity to improve care for premature and sick babies.
The Master Cutler Challenge gives companies, schools and individuals £100 and they have six months to use their creativity, teamwork and entrepreneurial skills to turn it into as much money as they possibly can.
We used our £100 to host a quiz at the new 192 bar on Shoreham Street with categories based on school lessons such as History, Geography and English. We sourced the venue welcome drinks, raffle prizes, invites, food for all under £100.
Teams paid to enter and bought raffle tickets which bolstered the initial £100 investment to £1455! Winning team made up of Pukator and Can Studios took the trophy at the end of the night.
Director Louisa summed it up: 'A hug hats off to our team for pulling off such a fantastic event when we took up the Master Cutlers Challenge, the team decided what they wanted tot do to turn the £100 in to more, we just gave them to space to get on with it and they really did us proud. The support we had from the companies we work with were really smashing. Thank you so much to everyone that came along the money raised will make such a difference. We were bowled over by the turnout last night, everyone was so supportive."
The companies who used their brain power were Cairn, CanStudios, Contract Recovery, Cream, Digital Exchange, Epitomy, Fortay Media, GB Eye, Hill Dickinson, HLW Keeble Hawson, Hunters, Irwin Mitchell, MK, Pinders, Puckator, Red Arrow, SEO Works, SSB, Talking Heads, and UHY Hacker Young.
