Benchmark Recruit news
The CDI Café last week launched to key creative and digital businesses in Sheffield to address fundamental issues in attracting candidates to the City Region. Benchmark and Bhayani HR and Employment Law joined forces to champion best practice and encourage people to take roles in Sheffield to address the skills shortage.
The first of the quarterly events was held at The Sentinal Brewhouse with key decision makers from creative, digital and IT companies drawing on their specialist knowledge to give a fresh insight into candidate requirements. Guest speaker James Fox, Managing Director at 3Squared also shared his experience from an employers perspective.
Louisa Harrison-Walker, from Benchmark and Jay Bhayani, from Bhayani HR and Employment Law, gave invaluable advice on attracting the right calibre of candidates while maintaining brand reputation.
"It can cost over £30,000 to replace a member of staff so top of our agenda was to discuss attracting and on boarding employees, developing techniques to ensure companies are bringing the right talent to their organisation. It was inspiring to have key business leaders in one room and look at the bigger picture surrounding growth in the sector and continuing to build Sheffield's reputation as a digital and creative hub" said Louisa Harrison-Walker, Managing Director at Benchmark Recruit - the award winning recruitment agency
Jay Bhayani from Bhayani HR and Employment Law added "My focus was to highlight employment law implications around the start of the working relationship. The next CDI Cafè will look at retention, plus how we safely exit employees if their performance remains poor."
The next CDI Café will be held on Thursday 6th February focusing on Managing and Motivating employees with guest speaker Matthew Williams from Quba.
