Domestically has been a subject in British art for centuries. From the historic genre of the still life, to the interiors of the Camden Town artists, to the use of household objects in pop art, the theme of home seems to hold an enduring fasicnation for artists and audiences alike. With reference to the artworks in the exhibition This Life is so Everyday: The Home in British Art 1950 - 1980, the curator will explore the different interpretation of home on display, with particular reference to experience of domesticity less frequently represented in the history of British art.
