The Job Role:


We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Bid Manager to join our client’s rapidly growing business. This is an exciting time to join this well-established business as they have huge growth plans, and are winning more global work.


This is the perfect opportunity for candidates who are looking for a step up in their career.  Our client requires an experienced Bids professional to join the company to manage the Bids Coordinator and work collaboratively with the Business Development team.


As Bids Manager, the successful candidate will work across the business and will play a key role in managing on major bids and proposals for the business.  Our client works across public, private and third sector – the ideal candidate will have bids experience across these sectors.  The successful candidate will be confident working collaboratively with stakeholders, internal teams and consultants to write a compelling tender. We are looking to speak to candidates who loves writing content, carrying out research and relishes in a challenging role.


Key duties will include the following;


  • Identifying opportunities through tenders portals, enquiries and referrals
  • Presenting new opportunities to the Directors and Business Development Manager
  • Providing update and progress reports
  • Leading the bids team in the preparation of bids, proposals and tenders
  • Carrying out due diligence and compliance
  • Successfully qualifying new sales opportunities with the Business Development Manager and bids team
  • Handing over bids to the Project Management team
  • Managing a caseload of up to 5 bids at any one time. These will range from approximately 250 k – 5 mill.

  • A self-starter who is able to pick up new systems quickly
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enjoy writing and able to write quality bids that are detailed and can be understood by a broad range of people
  • Ability to assimilate large quantities of information quickly
  • Confident at building relationships
  • Ability to spot business opportunities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Confident using a range of computer packages including the full suite of MS Office
  • Ideally have experience using Salesforce (not essential)
  • Degree educated (not essential)
  • Positive, proactive and curious individual
  • 2-3 years’ experience minimum within a bids role
