The Job Role:

 

We are proudly representing a wonderful and well renowned national charity who have offices located in Sheffield. The charity has a 12-month maternity leave cover available for an experienced Community Fundraising Manager.  The charity has grown significantly over the last few years as their services have been required more and more.    

 

The successful candidate will join the charity for a 12-month fixed term contract and will be tasked with providing fundraising support to the charity as well as coordinating various fundraising activities and events.

 

This varied role is well suited to candidates that have prior experience working within community fundraising and duties will include the following;

 

  • Coordinating fundraising activities across a range of income streams
  • Managing relationships including community groups, corporates and individuals
  • Managing communication to existing and potential donors
  • Creating and managing appeals to donors
  • Managing Gift Aid – encouraging donors to register for gift aid
  • Plan, coordinate and manage events – including skydives, cake sales, London Marathon etc
  • Developing a programme of fundraising events
  • Active engagement with supporters and donors
  • Regular contact and liaison with event organisers
  • Active fundraising within the community ensuring the profile of the charity is raised at all times
  • Be responsible for managing relationships with schools and universities
  • Actively recruiting volunteers to support at events
  • Speaking to community groups and schools about the charity to raise the profile and secure additional fundraising and volunteer support

 

We are looking to speak to candidates that have previous experience working within community fundraising. The ideal candidate for this role will be creative, organised, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and able to speak publicly to promote the charity.

 

Working as part of a small fundraising team, Applicants should be strong team players who enjoy working with people. It would also be advantageous for Applicants to have experience working with and managing volunteers.

 

Applicants should have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal and be confident liaising with donors and third parties in person by the phone and via email.

 

Excellent writing skills are important for this role – we are looking to speak to candidates that have an extremely high standard of written English.

 

This will be a fast-paced and varied role we are therefore looking to speak to candidates that are used to working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
