The Job Role:


An exciting opportunity has arisen within our client’s specialist manufacturing organisation for an experienced sales professional.  As Head of Sales, the successful candidate will form a key member of the management team and will lead on sales for the successful business.


Our award-winning client has ambitious plans, having recently moved into their new purpose-built manufacturing facility. Our client works with blue chip customers across a variety of sectors including food, plastics, energy, recycling, building and agriculture with approximately 50% of their sales being exported internationally.


Our client has ambitious plans to become the most profitable and best manufacturer within their sector by 2028.


Building on our client’s recent success, the successful candidate will manage the company’s sales strategy to deliver sustained growth. There is a strategy in place for the next 12-18 months but our client would like the successful candidate to review and make changes where appropriate. As Head of Sales, the successful candidate will oversee sales, customer service and marketing and manage those teams to generate growth and sales opportunities.


With the support of the sales team, the successful candidate will develop a sales strategy and will be responsible for the delivery and success of winning new business through prospect and existing accounts.


Our client is looking for an experienced sales professional who has been trained in the selling of international consumables by a world-class company. The ideal candidate will have completed a graduate sales programme within a well regarded organisation, and will have several years under their belt. 


Applicants will ideally have work experience within the engineering sector (steel or material would be beneficial) and will be able to read technical drawings. Applicants who have had exposure to marketing will be at an advantage. As Head of Sales, the successful candidate will be required to be comfortable with both direct and distributor business.


The successful candidate will line manage a team of 7 within customer service, business development, marketing and technical sales. Applicants will ideally have experience of managing a team and will be a supportive and encouraging manager. 


Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate success in achieving sales numbers but will also have a successful career path which is on an upward trajectory. There are significant growth opportunities within this role.
