The Job Role
Our client, an employee benefits provider with a National presence, is looking to add to their team in North West. They are looking for an IT Support Technician in Liverpool with experience in providing 1st and 2nd line support.
The IT Support Technician is responsible for the management and configuration and maintenance of software and hardware systems. The usual technical skills required are as follows:
- Windows Server
- Windows 7 & 10
- Microsoft Office (2013, 365 etc)
- Communication Systems ( Exchange 2010 and Skype for Business server and client )
- Active Directory &Windows domain management
- Knowledge of SQL and its implementation in Microsoft SQL server
- Web server technologies
Configuration of CISCO Firewall and Switch technologies, using both the command line and graphical user interfaces
Strong comprehension of the following fundamental concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS including SSL / TLS
Desirable skills experience over IT Systems, Support Helpdesk, Backup Softwares, server and virtualisation platforms , LAMP based softwares and services.
Although this is a 2nd line role you will occasionally be called upon to perform some 1st line tasks and tech support, especially when supporting absent staff. You will have at least 3 years’ experience in a IT role and be a natural and helpful problem solver.
