The Dream Career:

Personal Assistant and Driver *6-month contract*


The Location:


Travel will include between Dewsbury and Huddersfield


The Hours:

37 hours per week working 8 hour shifts with 30-minute lunch break

Shifts will include day, evening and weekend

Day shifts start between 9 and 11.30 am

Evening shifts between 11.30 and 12.30 pm

Weekend work from 10-5 pm (approximately every 6-8 weeks)


The Salary:

£10.50 per hour  

Mileage paid at 0.45 p per mile


The Job Role:


We are representing an organisation located in Dewsbury who have a six-month contract available for an individual who holds a full UK driving license and has access to a car, and has administrative experience. The successful candidate will provide support to a visually impaired support worker.


This varied role will include the following duties;


  • Attending meetings with the Social Worker – taking handwritten notes and taking account of any visual information during the meeting
  • Cross-referencing notes with Social Worker to ensure all information taken at each meeting is accurate
  • Proof reading all written reports
  • Reading aloud notes and reports
  • Inputting data using CRM system
  • Driving Social Worker between Dewsbury and Huddersfield
  • Attending training and other meetings across the Kirklees area
  • Providing sighted guide whilst working in the community including getting in and out of the office
  • Ad hoc administrative duties as required



The ideal candidate for this role will have the following experience;


  • Full UK driving license and access to a car
  • Administrative experience
  • Strong IT skills and able to use all MS Office packages
  • Experience of managing data
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality
  • Ability to handle personal and sensitive data
  • Experience working with disabled individuals (desirable)
  • Experience working in the mental health sector (desirable)



Working hours;


The successful candidate will work 37 hours a week. Shifts will be 8 hours with a 30 minute lunch break. Shifts may include day, evening and weekends. Day shifts will start between 9 and 11.30 am, evening shifts will start between 11.30 and 12.30 pm and weekends between 10 am and 5 pm. Please note that weekend working will be approximately every 6-8 weeks.


The successful candidate will be based in offices located in Dewsbury. 


Applicants will require a DBS. As this role is for an immediate start it would be beneficial for candidates to already have a DBS in place.
