The Job Role

One of Sheffield’s award-winning charities is looking for a Senior Delivery Manager to join their team for a 12 month maternity cover contract. We are looking for an adaptable resourceful and resilient individual who is ideally form a 3rd sector background.

The main responsibility of the role will include leading a portfolio of projects, providing strategic direction and managing risk and delivery issues. This multi-faceted role with require impeccable time management and communications skills, along with an ability to manage teams according to individual strengths and delegate effectively.

Key objectives of the role shall include:

  • Operating end to end to power charity impact from new business development to delivery
  • Identifying funders and partners that could support the organisation
  • Developing proposals for new projects
  • Writing and contributing to bids -with support from the bid manager and associate bid writing team
  • Leading the setting up and initial delivery of projects, working to a critical path
  • Acting a project lead for complex, high value and strategically important projects
  • Working with Heads of Departments to plan weekly resource meetings
  • Overseeing quality assuring and budget / expenditure management for the project portfolio

Experience required:

  • 2-4 years management / project management experience
  • Strong team leading skills – able to motivate and empower staff
  • Proven success in delivering a wide range of projects for Government; Trust and Foundations; and / or Corporates
  • Strategic and innovative thinker
  • Delivering and reporting on progress and performance
