The Job Role

We are looking for a service desk engineer with 1 years’ experience working a 1st line support capability.

Due to the urgent demand form our client – this role is for an immediate start, potentially with a temp to perm contract.

The main purpose of the role is to provide remote support for IT, data, hosting and telecoms. You will be looking after the maintenance of customers’ networks by making use of the remote monitoring systems in place. By utilising technical knowledge and a professional manner, you will be the key first point of contact for customers who are looking for guidance and assistance when fixing system issues.

Main Responsibilities will include:

Answering support calls and emails within an SLA’s and work to fix issues on a first time call.

Make appropriate use of the company’s ticketing system to monitor progress and timelines are being adhered to

Prioritising issues to progress works are progressed efficiently

Ownership of issue from first point of contact

Checking Backups and escalating repeat failures to Team Leader

Experience Required:

Minimum of 1 years’ experience within the IT industry in a helpdesk role

Experience of Active Directory

Microsoft Exchange

Working knowledge of virtualisation using VMware

Experience of working on a remote tech desk
