The Job Role
** Please note this is a fixed term contract until 1st March 2021**
We are working exclusively with Fareshare who work nationally to tackle food waste.
As Community Coordinator, working within Buckinghamshire and Berkshire, the successful candidate will maximise relationships and growth within local communities through the Fareshare Go programme. The successful candidate will engage with local charities and retailers to maximise the amount of food collected.
The position will include the following duties;
Charity welcoming and engagement – Welcome visits will be carried out with new charities to on board them and gain full understanding of their requirements. Charities needs will be analysed to ensure that the Fareshare service will meet their requirements. The successful applicant will also gain knowledge of the retailers they work with and carry out regular visits to maximise relationships.
Community Building – The successful candidate will build strong relationships with retailers and local charities to enable and empower more food to be redistributed.
Sustainability and Compliance – Working closely with Regional Managers, stores will need to be identified where re-engagement is required. This will help maximise the amount of food that is collected by local charities. Annual food safety checks will also need to be carried out.
Retailer Engagement – This position also involves a huge amount of retailer engagement. The successful applicant will take an active role in meeting and greeting with retailers, and ensuring regular contact is maintained.
Community Engagement – Working very closely with regional teams to ensure the Fareshare community continues to grow. The successful candidate will get involved with local community events and networking.
Essential requirements for this position include;
- A proven track record of exceptional relationship building skills
- Have strong communication skills & confident engaging with a variety of people
- Be strong with handling difficult situations and be able to demonstrate problem solving skills
- Be able to self manage and organise own diary
- Have strong IT skills (including MS Office)
- Hold a full UK driving licence and access to own car
Desirable skills ;
- Hold level 2/3 Food Safety training certificate
- Have experience of using CRM systems. Salesforce experience will be advantageous, but not essential
- Experience with data analysis is preferable
Please note that this is a field based role. The successful candidate will work from home 1-2 days a week and be on the road meeting with charities and retailers 3-4 days per week. Mileage is paid.
