We are delighted to be representing our long-standing client as they recruit an exciting new role into the business. Our client is recruiting a Director of Business Development to head up the sales team.
Our client requires and experienced and dynamic individual to lead the Business Development team. As well as managing the Business Development team, the successful candidate will also be responsible for proactively generating income from corporates, governments, trusts and foundations. It will be the Director of Business Development’s responsibility to ensure the business is attending meetings with the right organisations to generate more income and donations. It is essential that the successful candidate is excellent at generating leads, attending meetings to close deals and an empowering leader who is committed to motivating and supporting an excellent sales team.
The following key responsibilities will be included in this role; - Successful delivery of sales strategy to secure target of £7m income – Building a pipeline of new strategic partners and supporters – Generation of leads for income and product donations – Identifying and developing new business opportunities – Developing and supporting the team with bids and proposals – Oversee the team with contracts and agreements – Work with the wider team across the business to ensure strategic alignment – Building exceptional relationships with strategic partners and major supporters – Securing a pipeline of supporters to donate products and services to the organisation – Externally representing the organisation in meetings including the media to widen the reach, and actively promote the organisation – Leading and motivating a team of four sales professionals within the team – Ensuring the entire Business Development team are working towards agreed strategies and targets
We would love to hear from Director’s of Business Development who have the following skills and experience; - Significant experience of driving growth in investment and donations (from businesses, government, philanthropists and corporates) – Exceptional experience of preparing effective strategies to ensure the organisation achieves growth – Leading, coaching and mentoring a team of four sales professionals – Confident managing a business development team to ensure they work to, and achieve their agreed targets – Experience of working across multiple sectors – Self-motivated – Tenacious – Strong sales-mindset – Exceptional negotiation skills – Highly professional – Ability to attend meetings and pitch to a wide variety of organisations including government and large corporates – Excellent business and financial literacy – Demonstrable experience of fundraising (corporate and public) and major giving – Ability to draw from a range of data, insights and intelligence to inform decision making
