The Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday 40 hours per week
Due to continued growth within our client’s business, we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Controller. Our client’s business is going from strength-to-strength and this is a critical role to enhance production to ensure the company strategy and business KPIs are delivered.
We are looking to speak to Production Controllers who have excellent experience working within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be a visible leader who is able to build excellent rapport with the production team to ensure the successful delivery of the business plan.
Typical duties and responsibilities will include the following; - Leading morning and afternoon meetings with the production team to ensure KPIs are successfully achieved - Reviewing the production plan each day - Working collaboratively with the purchasing and planning teams - Updating production whiteboards and plans each day to reflect objectives - Review output efficiency and performance against the previous day - Challenging any underperformance - Management and planning which Operator will run each machine - Planning of which job will be carried out on each machine - Measuring efficiencies of runners/overall and drive ongoing improvements - Liaising with the sales team to ensure clear picture of priority orders - Driving ongoing improvements within production - Reviewing performance of the team each day - Set performance plan and KPIs for the evening shift - Responsibility for completion of quality documentation - Policing the use of materials/scrap/consumables ensuring materials are not wasted - Ensuring correct PPE used at all times - General management of Operators behaviours and performance – challenging where necessary - Shift the production culture to ensure that it is target and results driven - Driving OTIF up by making sure plan is always delivered - Driving of 5s/factory cleaning/canteen condition/shower room and bathroom cleanliness/locker room/grounds tidiness - Management of safe behaviours within the factory - Reporting any near misses - Ensuring there is always cover in the factory
This role is suited to an experienced Production Controller who is confident overseeing the production of a busy manufacturing business. We are looking to speak to visible leaders who are able to successfully drive and motivate a production team to hold them accountable. The successful candidate will be KPI and performance driven and will be able to identify any business changes required, and be confident to challenge any underperformance. Whilst this is not a hands-on machining role, it would be hugely advantageous for the successful candidate to understand machinery within a manufacturing environment. Experience of completing quality documentation is essential. We would love to hear from candidates who are looking for a long-term role.
