Twitter LinkedIn Email Louisa
Childhood Ambition: to be a farmer.
Biography: Yorkshire girl born and bred, so it is illegal for her to not like Henderson’s Relish! Louisa heads Benchmark. Her degree in Politics from Leeds Uni only really comes in to play when she has had a drink and fancies a left or right wing rant, depending which Gemini twin she is channeling. After refining her craft and securing the top spot at recruitment super brand Office Angels she persuaded best friend Amy to bring her training and management skills to the table and raise the bar by launching a new brand of recruitment. If Louisa wasn’t a recruitment director she would be a farmer, and in her spare time she is tackling an allotment. Peas, beans, tomatoes, cucumbers; a doddle. She is yet to master sweetcorn.
Twitter LinkedIn Email Rebecca
Specialism: Office Support, Legal and Finance
Childhood Ambition: to be a ballerina
Biography: Rebecca moved from her rural home town of Herefordshire to the bright lights of Sheffield to study in 2007 – she loved it so much she hasn’t left since! Falling into a career in law, Rebecca decided that whilst she loved her clients drafting Wills wasn’t the feel good factor she was after – luckily Benchmark swooped in and tooled her to be a Recruitment Consultant. Rebecca has since progressed to take the role of Team Manager focusing on supporting the team and delivering a quality Benchmark experience. She is also proud Mummy of two cats Marmite and Mabel – she is described in the office as a ‘crazy cat lady’ which she wears like a badge of honour.
Twitter LinkedIn Email Lucy
Communications & Marketing Manager
Childhood Ambition: to be a Dairy Farmer
Biography: Lucy is a true Sheffield-er and was brought up on Henderson’s Relish and watching the Blades. She was reluctantly taken over the hills to Manchester as a teenager, but always had a yearning to get back to Sheffield. While in Manchester, Lucy’s Saturday job was working at Manchester City’s ticket office and had the confusing identity of being a red and a blue for a while! When she’s not marketing and communicating, you can find her out on the hills mountain biking or walking her lurcher with a tribe of children. And if it snows there’s no stopping her on her snowboard.
Twitter LinkedIn Email James
Specialism: Sales and Marketing
Childhood ambition: to be a train driver
Biography: New to the Benchmark fold is James who comes with bags of passion and enthusiasm for recruitment. A globe trotter at heart we are very pleased James has chosen Sheffield as his home. Any excuse to jump on a plane and James is off – his favourite hot spots being Gran Canaria and Prague. You could also say he is somewhat nocturnal as he’s often on the early morning train home from Manchester after a night out. On the rare occasion James isn’t partying you’ll find him heading home to his roots in Cumbria in his soft top car!
Twitter LinkedIn Email Michael
Childhood Ambition: to be a pilot
Biography: With a head for travel crossing into the Sheffield borders from Rotherham was a breeze for Michael. After studying travel he satisfies his natural desire to see the world by taking regular city breaks and holidays overseas. When he’s on home soil he takes time out from his day job to go to concerts, most recently Queen Bee (Beyonce), binges on trash TV or watches his all time favourite film, Dirty Dancing.
Twitter LinkedIn Email Matthew
Childhood Ambition: to be Superman
Biography: Matthew classes himself as an honorary Yorkshireman (despite hailing from down South!), he decided Sheffield was the city for him after studying music then a masters in creative and cultural industry management at the University. When he’s not at Benchmark he has a love/hate relationship with the gym, more of a necessity due to his overwhelming love of food (especially cheese). Watch this space as Matt is also part of the band ‘Native and the Name’ who are rumoured to be Sheffield’s best musical export since the Arctic Monkeys!
Twitter LinkedIn Email Amelie
Amelie De Candolle
Childhood Ambition: to be an actress
Biography: Say ‘bonjour’ to Amelie who is Parisian born and bilingual in French. With French genes, as you would expect, she has a passion for fashion and is also a keen muso – her specialist subject is the 60’s and 70’s and wishes she could time travel back so she could fully embrace the culture of the time. Amelie moved up North after trying to make it in the music industry in London and deciding to study fashion up North. Her creative mind and love working with creative individuals has led her to work in recruitment and join Benchmark.
Twitter LinkedIn Email Ellie
Marketing and Resource Co-ordinator
Childhood Ambition: to be a firewoman
Biography: Ellie is our second homegrown Benchmark-er, having started out as an apprentice at 18, a year later she became a full time Office Administrator – and was so good she’s been fast tracked to a Marketing and Resource Co-ordinator at Benchmark HQ. Ellie is a huge film buff and is able to recite the film Tangled word for word. Last year she had two new additions to her family, and is now known as the ‘silly Auntie’ who can crack a smile out of her niece and nephew even when in the darkest of tantrums. Deep down Ellie is a hopeless romantic and dreams that one day she will marry Tom Hardy. And once that’s done, she’d love nothing more than snuggling up on the sofa on a Sunday afternoon with a big bar of chocolate (with Tom obvs!).
Twitter LinkedIn Email Cortney
Childhood Ambition: to be a Popstar
Biography: Cortney is the third apprentice to join Benchmark, and at just 18 is already flying in her role as Office Administrator. Cortney is a real night owl and loves a party – whether it’s on the local scene in Sheffield, or as a groupie following her boyfriends gigs. This Sheffield lass may be a proud of her South Yorkshire heritage but she also loves to travel across the globe – she already has the travelling bug, more recently ticking off Austria, Cyprus, Tunisia and the Algarve – next on her hit list is Amsterdam. And when Cortney is back at home she’s being terrorised by her 6 year old brother!
