Benchmark’s Managing Director, Becca has raised just shy of £900 for charity partner SCCCC by running the Sheffield 10k.
Becca had wanted to run the Sheffield 10k for SCCCC last year, but unfortunately due to injury was not able to. Becca was determined more than ever that she would be running it this year, and on Sunday 24th September she successfully completed the race in 1 hour and 43 seconds. A personal best! The Sheffield 10k is a challenging race that winds it way through the streets of the city, and up some of those famous hills too!
Becca trained hard for the event with lots of early morning runs before the working day, but it wasn’t just about personal achievement but also about giving back to the community. She decided to use her participation in the Sheffield 10k as an opportunity to raise vital funds for Benchmark’s charity partner, SCCCC. Setting a target of £500, Becca surpassed her fundraising goal by raising £870.
One of the most heart-warming aspects of Becca’s fundraising journey was the outpouring of support from her family, friends, and the local business community.
The £870 raised by Becca will have a significant impact on helping older, lonely people in Sheffield.
Benchmark will continue to support SCCCC and Becca is now passing on the fundraising baton to Natalie who is participating in a Firewalk by walking over hot coals for SCCCC on 28th October.
